Why there is no “Moore’s Law” for networks

My article on the misguided belief in a “Moore’s Law” for networks has been republished in The Mobile Century magazine, distributed by the Global Telecom Women’s Network.

Why is this topic important? There is a dangerous industry over-reliance on throwing ever more resources at issues which are fundamentally ones of resource allocation. The future of telecoms is dominated by questions of quality, not quantity. Those exponential J-curves of “data tsunamis” are not merely wrong (they’re always S-curves), they aren’t even all that relevant.

I would like to thank fellow “game changer” Vicki MacLeod for her help in editing and publishing this article.
